2026 New England Junior and Senior Youth Wind Ensembles
Junior Ensemble for grades 5-8, Senior Ensemble for grades 9-12.

- Rehearsals, held on Mondays, begin January 19, 2026
- Rehearsal times: Junior 6-7 pm, Senior: 7:15 - 9 p.m.
- Rehearsal & Concert Location: UMass Lowell's Moloney Performing Arts Center Concert Hall on the 1st Floor. South Campus.
- Parking - free, directly across the street, Wilder Street Faculty Lot (gate opens at 3.30).
2026 Concert Information
Please note auditions are generally related to seating placement in the ensemble.
The staff must have an idea of students abilities for programming and seating. We listen gently and comment with encouragement.
2026 Rehearsal Schedule
- Concert Date Friday May 1, 2026 at 7:30 p.m.
- Concert location: Moloney Performing Arts Center, UML (formerly Durgin Hall)
- Free, No tickets required. Free parking, Wilder Street, Faculty Lot, across from MPAC

- Audio recording requirements:
1. Say your name and instrument at the beginning the recording.
2. Then say what you are going to play (name of piece and the section).
3. Include/ attach a copy/copies (pdf) of the music performed when you submit the recording.
4. Performance: This should be 2 contrasting pieces.1 page of "fast" and 3/4 page of "slow".
Generally, solo music is preferred (Jr District piece, District or All State piece).
**Note: "Band parts", if chosen, should provide 8-10 lines of the student playing (i.e. not including rests...so this could be 3 pages if the student "rests" a lot). For the slow part, find something lyrical (song-like) where possible.

- Ensembles meet every Monday unless otherwise noted
- First rehearsal: Monday, January 19, 2026
- No Rehearsal on Monday, February 16, 2026
- Patriot's Day Rehearsal: Monday, April 20, 2026
- Final rehearsal: Monday, April 27, 2026
- Concert dress - need only be worn at the Concert. Options:
Black jacket, white tux shirt, black bow tie, Black: pants, socks & shoes.
Black dress: past knees (or longer), sleeves to elbows (or longer), black closed-toed shoes
Black long sleeve "dress blouse", black "dress pants" (i.e. not leggings, jeans, etc), black socks, black closed-toed shoes
